WRAA meetingsWRAA Meetings

We meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, and other pre-scheduled times. Meetings normally start at 7.30pm unless otherwise noted. Many members just come along to socialise, but quite a few come along to use the nice cosy radio shack, where the latest gear can be operated. We are fortunate that our location offers great HF, VHF and UHF take off.

At WRAA we also offer license training at all levels. This is run by our own members who have a wealth of knowledge and experience, although we are currently only able to offer courses when student numbers are sufficeint. Our members run courses as volunteers, and as such real life can often dictate thier frequency. If you are interetsed in finding out more, then go to our training pages.

Ham radio special event stationsEvents

Over the course of the year, WRAA members participate in numerous events. These events allow us to demonstrate the hobby to others who are not necessarily linked to the world of Ham Radio. These events may be operating demonstration stations at fêtes and carnivals, working with Youth organisations like the Scouts and Guides or just having fun operating somewhere different.

ham radio loan equipmentAccess

Here at WRAA we are privileged to have some of the most up to date equipment available, and also have access to those members who like to build and maintain their own. Where possible, we offer surplus equipment to those members less fortunate to own their own, and also offer access to a "shack" for those who are unable to operate from their homes.
