Since our inception we have grown from strength to strength and now have in excess of 40 members, many of whom come along to the regular meetings held at 3rd Worcester Scout HQ, our poor kettle is rushed off it feet! We have been fortunate enough to install antennas and have a fully operational shack for use by ur members and visitors, and we have been successful in gaining financial support from the National Lottery and the Grass Roots funding schemes, so the equipment we have at our disposal is modern and easy to operate.
Our main goal is to build a sustainable "future proof" club for the area, and build on our successes.
we are always looking for new members. Experience isn't important as help is always at hand, however we have found that experienced Amateurs are only too happy to help newcomers get to grips with the hobby and we strongly support"mentoring" for the younger members. So, if you are just thinking about Radio as a hobby or you have been a "Ham" for years, drop us an email and ask about membership today.
For those of you who are not yet licensed, but would like to join in this hobby, WRAA will be running courses for the various levels of license available. You don't have to be a Ham to be a member, maybe you have been a CB operator in the past, or a Short wave Listener, whatever your background we would love to have you as a member.
Still not sure? Then contact us and we can arrange for you to come along and see Amateur Radio for yourself. What better way to find out if it is the hobby for you?
